Moving On Up! To the East Side!

So, I’m contemplating a move from Blogsome to Wordpress. I’ve had a good time using Blogsome, and I’ve learned bits and pieces of adding/deleting/editing code via Blogsome’s customizable CSS.
However, Wordpress offers some features that are quite appealing that aren’t available here at Blogsome. Primarily, these involve incorporating media into the blog: video (via YouTube, Google, or Grouper) or audio (via Sonific). Really, the only thing I’d be missing from Blogsome is the customizable CSS, which I’ve used primarily for getting my links to show up in their respective categories rather than just under the "Links"–which Wordpress does automatically anyway.
However. . .there is (as yet) no easy way to export the archives of the Blogsome version into Wordpress. (There may/may not be a complicated way involving rss feeds or XMP***-something or others that I don’t know how to work with. Yet.) So if I want to keep all my junk in one space, making the Wordpress move might not be the wisest choice. Hrm. Choices, choices.
