					<description>Don't be afraid, some of the best, smartest academic blogs don't reference anything at all. 

And I'll be the first to admit that my &quot;direction&quot; as far as dissertation work goes is, at best, a load of bull. I know what I like reading and researching about, but I also have to find faculty willing to work with me on those same things, and that's not always easy. 

I did NOT write the thesis I thought I would--that paper's still in my head somewhere. I was told it was &quot;too complex.&quot; I'm expecting similar trouble in dissertation territory, but maybe it's just less scary when I know that I'm probably going to be waylaid by quite a few great new ideas from reading and working with new faculty.</description>
